using TSA for KUHNE MKU23 down converter observation

Hello,

Now I use my MKU 23 LNC down converter

MKU LNC 23
Frequency range 2320 ... 2450 MHz
IF frequency 1404 ... 1534 MHz
Gain typ. 40 dB
Noise figure typ. 0.7 dB
Local oscillator (LO) 916.5 MHz SAW
Frequency stability (0 ... 40 °C) +/- 20 kHz
Supply voltage +9 ... 18 V DC

Receiver : TT S2-1600 using STV6110 satellite tuner IC, 65 dB gain (can be reduced by AGC voltage or by soft, as I do, and possibility to add 16 dB using BBgain)

Software: Tiny Spectrum Analyser v0.2 (can be downloaded here :http://www.vivadatv.org/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=271 )


first tests with dummy load

observation is done using direct TT S2-1600 tuner frequency.
we can see the L.O. used at 965MHz and its harmonic at 1930MHz

we can see that the level is very lower than the chinese S-LNB . no saturation on the bandwidth we want to use

observation is done using external frequency received by the down converter.

I will add some gain using TT S2-1600 BBgain :

Conclusion:
This down converter seems easier to adapt to S2-1600 input than chinese LNB

2395 MHz is free of QRM
2437 MHz is too much Wifi-QRM for HAmTV

2422 MHz is to be tested with a DVB-S DATV modulator... will be done for next tests...
