The MiniTiouner does not accept below 950 Mhz

Messagede ra9cua@mail.ru » Mer 27 Jan 2021 18:33

I built MiniTiouner hardware Version 2 according to the scheme from the site
https://wiki.batc.org.uk/MiniTiouner_hardware_Version_2
The Eardetek NIM tuner was used.
There are some problems.
The tuner is determined by the program, but the reception frequency is from 950-2150 Mhz.
How to change the reception frequency from 650MHz as the author writes on the site.
Help my.

You have built a MiniTiouner V1 that I have designed in 2015. (look at your photo, Minitioune says MiniTiouner V1)
look at the first post on this subject here:
http://www.vivadatv.org/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=366

The MiniTiouner V1 can use a Sharp, Samsung or Eardatek NIM tuner.

A Sharp or Samsung NiM we have used at this period can be set from 650MHz to 2450 MHz(tuner chip: STV6110)
The Eardatek NIM model we have used can be set only from 950 MHz to 2150 MHz due to the Hardware (tuner chip is a STB6100). It is written just after the title on the MiniTioune photo you give.

Hello Jean-Pierre.
Thank you so much for your quick response.I read your articles, but I couldn't find the answer to my question anywhere.
hope that the answer to my question will serve as information for those who will have an attempt to make a tuner on Eardatek EDS-4B47FF2B +.
Thank you so much for answering my question,I will now use this device with a frequency converter.

Hello.

I built my minitiouner according to the schemes of version 2.
The schemes of versions 1 and 2 are the same.
How to change the message to version V2 or version pro .
And whether the tuner can work in the pro version.

Sergey.

Hello Sergey,

MiniTiouner V1was dedicated to the use of Sharp/Eardatek/Samsung NIM_tuner that have a STV0903 demodulator chip with only 1 Tuner&demod inside.

MiniTiounerV2 or MiniTiouner-pro or MiniTiouer-S are dedicated to the use of a Serit NIM_tuner FTS4334/FTS4335 with a STV0910A demodulator chip with 2 tuners and 2 demodulators inside.
this STV0910A chip is also very good for DVB-S2 and can work 16APSK and 32APSK. (the Eardatek chip has more difficulties in DVB-S2, less sensitivity, more time to lock etc... and cannot decodd16APSK or 32APSK)

schematic are very similar, founded on my first schematic.

Hello Jean-Pierre.
Thank you so much for your reply.
I have another question.
If I build a Serit NIM_tuner FTS4334
do I need to change the parameters in FTDI FT2232H Mini Module(file" NIM tuner.xml")?

You have just to add a resistor ( read the read-me given with Minitioune v0.9.9.1h)
